Custom Studio Set Build
Approached with the opportunity to reimagine the traditionally white product backdrop, we designed and built a modular set that allowed us to capture a variety of looks for 7 large industrial units.
From the start, our set design goals were clear on needs for depth, style, and flexibility —
STYLE
We desired an environment that felt contemporary and refined like our client’s brand, while maintaining edge of ruggedness suitable for industrial units. Our approach was to craft a faux slate finished “showroom” that put the products on display.
DEPTH
The final visuals needed to have a sense of depth and contrast. So, we imagined a space where light could be sculpted by passing through a doorway and around walls, and with dark slate walls to contrast against the gray product line.
FLEXIBILITY
We built various size platforms for the hefty ground units and a feature wall to appropriately display hanging units. In addition, we constructed several boxes and a column intended to add visual interest. The loose design of the pieces allowed us to rearrange on sight and adapt the background for each individual product.
SHOOT
With the environment built at a studio close to home, we spent several days directing and shooting a collection of dynamic product video and photos. Our clients tuned into the studio content remotely, and with each reaction, we were enthused to say, “It’s not CGI, it really is a set!”
